about

Fresh from dropping a free EP entitled Future Black Gurl (which you can get at digital.thecontentlabel.com/album/future-black-gurl),

Marques Lafelt returns to The Content Label Podcast #8 with Lipstick & Synthesizers

Los Angeles-based producer Marques Lafelt is known for seductive soulful left-field sounds, taken from the perspective of a purveyor of classic techno. A prominent party organizer around L.A.’s beat scene, Marques’s previous efforts could be found on the Nylon Trax label and in remixes for Jaymz Nylon and Men From Nobu.

The album Future Black Gurl is a afro-futuristic psychological concept album set in the distant future. It is about the search for love, self care, and relationship issues — finding and losing love and then reflecting on the journey and lessons learned. Future Black Gurl was a limited two-part project, self-released in 2012, now recovered, remastered, and reissued by The Content Label. Prepare to explore a timeless electronic sound.
